1980 Alvarez Yairi 9 string is a rare piece and a very nice example of a Japanese Yairi-made Alvarez. This guitar has doubled G, B, and e strings, to give you the airy, shimmery sound of a 12 string, with the strong solid bass and easy play-ability of a 6 string. This one shows plenty of use, but sounds excellent and has an especially nicely aged spruce top with cool bear claw figuring.

This guitar is in good condition for it’s age. It’s pretty heavily used, but was taken care of overall, the neck is straight, hardly any fret wear, bridge is tight to body, and no bulge or sinking of the top. There is a small area on the bottom of the guitar that we had to patch up, but otherwise it’s structurally sound. It has plenty of small finish chips and scratches, and ring marks on the neck, but no cracks in the wood. It plays and sounds great too with nice low action! Includes a hardshell case.
